Meet Moki Gambala ( which means “Little Fox"), nicknamed “Bala”  who is a 9 year-old basengi ( an African Barkless Dog ) whose people are Thony Gillies and Mary Rigdon.

Fun Fact #1 - Basengis mate once a year - and all about the same time - so they are all born in December or January.

Fun Fact # 2 - Basengis are bred to hunt lions ( yikes !) and so Bala tends to be fearless and lacks deescalation skills ( hence - no dog parks !)  On the other hand, a plastic bag blowing in the wind or a new sign can be spooky and stop her in her tracks !

Fun Fact #3 - Bala had a trainer once who also trained seals !  She learned amazing tricks which she will only perform for Thony and Mary as she is wary of people outside her circle of trust. It has been suggested that they video said tricks and start a You Tube or Tik Tok channel for “Breathtaking Bala”.  haha  stay tuned !
